The Zambia Ministry of Health (MoH) currently envisions two initial uses for REMS results.
- Planners at national and provincial levels will analyze resource flows to ensure that funding and services are directed to geographic areas where disease burden is greatest.
- Managers at district and provincial levels will monitor unit expenditures across facilities/districts and over time, to identify opportunities to increase efficiency and/or redeploy resources to areas where they can be used more intensively. Other uses will emerge as REMS is fully implemented and MoH staff become familiar with its capabilities.
